A Ministry That Ministers To The Masses
The church was organized in 1998 by 65 faith-believing individuals. Dr. Virginia Young presented the name Greater Antioch to the members, and after much prayer it was agreed and adopted unanimously that the ministry would be officially known as Greater Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor T. Lynn Robinson, Sr., was elected as the first pastor, and the first service was held at a local head start. Being a bible based ministry, and believing that God had a greater work for  us, we continued to praise God and press toward the mark of a higher calling.  In 2001 we moved to 305 Mamie Street, our present location  and in May 2002 Pastor Allen Ray Bolton, Sr., was sent by God to be our second pastor. During this time the Drill Team performed at numerous churches and represented the church in Texas, the radio ministry was established and aired every Sunday on 92.1 FM at 3pm. The Sounds of Thunder male choir was organized and sung on 3rd Sundays.  Also under Pastor Bolton in May 2007 our college ministry,(CSM) was established and Bro. Everett Gibson was crowned a deacon. Then in August 2008, our third pastor Dr. Christopher C. Armstrong was sent to lead the ministry. Because he, his wife Lady Adrienne and children being very active in the church. the membership grew in record numbers. Pastor Armstrong held deacon and minister training so they would know how to conduct services. The married and single ministry was established. Pastor Armstrong installed our first video cameras in the church, and our dance and praise ministry was born. Pastor Armstrong also licensed and ordained Deacon Leon Buckley II, Deacon Everett Gibson, and Bro. Brandon Jones ministers and Sons of the House.  Then in April 2012, Pastor Chester Hopkins, Jr., fulfilled the call of God and became the senior lead servant and fourth pastor of Greater Antioch. Under his leadership the married and single ministry was re-established as was our youth ministry. Pastor Hopkins organized the Vision Casting Ministry (VCM), to assist the pastor in making decision that would be beneficial to the church continued growth.. During this pandemic, Pastor Hopkins has taken every precaution to maintain a safe environment for the church. We now have our first virtual broadcasting ministry and on Monday and Friday at 6 a.m. we are able to dial in on our prayer line. Because of all the new technology that's available, Pastor Hopkins has been able to broaden our spectrum and be a blessing to others by sharing the Word of God on a daily basis.  Pastor Hopkins has a passion for preaching and teaching the Word in a way the even a child can grasp it. His favorite motto is:  No Excuse--God's Will, God's Way...
